The Australian White was developed by Tattykeel to be a self-replacing, haired, meat sheep that required minimal maintenance. The four breeds of sheep that were selected to develop the breed were chosen for specific traits they could bring to the breed. These breeds were the Poll Dorset, Texel, White Dorper and Van Rooy.
Australian White sheep are suitable for a variety of environments and are adaptable to cold and hot climates. Their growth rate is rapid and they finish well on grass. They do not require shearing and negate the need to treat them for parasites. This is an easy care animal that is very profitable.
